2nd Annual Day of the Dead Procession
October 29, 2009 (Last Thursday on Alberta)
7 p.m. Meet in the Alberta Co-op parking lot (1500 NE Alberta)
Inspired by el Día de los Muertos, join this community parade in honor of our beloved dead. Bring candles and photos, and wear skeleton masks or makeup if you like.
Community Altars
3-11 p.m., Thursday, October 29
Behind the Guardino Gallery at 2939 NE Alberta
Families, community groups and individuals are invited to create altars in honor of particular people or groups. Bring photos, mementos, flowers, food, etc., and arrange them in a way that’s meaningful to you. After the procession, enjoy tea and music while sitting with the altars in an atmosphere of reflection, remembrance and joyous celebration.

Dancers, drummers, musicians, performers are welcome during the procession
and afterwards. Templekeepers and altar artists are needed to prepare the space, create and tend altars.
